North South University has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Intellisia, a global research think tank based in Guangzhou, China, in advancing research, innovation and sustainable business cooperation between Bangladesh and China.

Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, vice-chancellor of North South University, and Professor Dingding Chen, CEO of Intellisia and vice-dean of the BRI and GBA Institute, signed the memorandum of understanding, said a press release.

Both parties emphasised the importance of fostering sustainable economic partnerships and generating actionable intelligence that could guide businesses and policymakers in both nations.

The MoU includes a financial commitment of $50,000 from Intellisia, to be provided in 10 semi-annual instalments of $5,000 each over the next five years.

These funds will support research, consulting and intelligence-gathering activities under the newly established Centre for Chinese Economy, Innovation and Cooperation at the NSU.

In addition, the NSU will provide in-kind contributions equivalent in value to the financial support from Intellisia, including office space, utilities, faculty expertise, research staff, and full logistical support to ensure the centre’s effective operation.

This collaboration is expected to establish Dhaka as a regional hub for cutting-edge research on innovation, sustainable trade and business cooperation with China.
